For the past few months I’ve been working with salons, spas and makeup studios and learning about all of their great upcoming promotions not just for the holiday season but also for 2011. I have heard SO many great ideas and I will continue to highlight beauty businesses here on the website.

Here are a few holiday promotions that I wanted to mention.

Ideas for YOUR Beauty Business
You still have time to create and execute holiday promotions for your salon or studio.
• Connect with your clients: Use Facebook and Twitter to offer giveaways from free giveaways to special discounts and coupon codes, this is easy and you don’t have to plan too far in advance.
• Express Services: Your clients are busy, you’re busy-we’re all busy this time of year. Offer express services and encourage your clients to get additional services while they’re there.
• Holiday Sales and Markdowns: If you haven’t done this already, it’s not too late. Markdown your products right before the holidays or immediately following if you are left with inventory to sell.
• Get everyone on board: Quick, hold an awesome staff meeting to sell, sell, sell. Have a contest or offer an incentive program and create adorable gift sets with holiday packaging and make sure all of your staff is passionate about selling this season.  Create lots of signage, put gift cards out at every station.
• Give Back: You still have time to contact your local food banks, shelters and community programs. There are plenty of ways to give back. Do what you can this year and start thinking about what you can do next year to make it bigger and better.
