Alli WebbDrybar is a brand new “blow dry bar” concept created around a very simple idea: No cuts. No color. Just blowouts for only $35. Based on the idea that almost everyone (even pros) prefers having someone else blow out their hair. Why? It just looks better!

Drybar’s Co-Founder Alli Webb gave us the scoop on Drybar and why everyone is diggin’ this phenomenon!

YBI: What gave you the idea to establish Drybar?
AW: Personal necessity! As a curly-haired girl I was always struggling to find a great affordable blowout. The only options women really had was overpaying at their regular salon or enduring a not-so-great experience at a discount chain. I decided the timing couldn’t be more perfect to create a beautiful, fun, hip place where ladies, like me, could get a great blowout at a great price. And thus the first Drybar was born!

YBI: How is Drybar different from a traditional salon experience?
AW:  We don’t consider Drybar a salon. It doesn't look, feel or even smell anything like one (which our clients thank us for daily!). It’s truly a one-of-a-kind experience. We specialize in one thing and one thing only - serving up professional and stylish blowouts for our clients. Our tagline pretty much says it all: No cuts. No color. Just blowouts. Only $35.

YBI: Why does it work? DRYBAR
AW: When women walk out of a Drybar with a professional blowout they have more confidence. Nothing makes a woman feel better about herself than great hair!

YBI: What keeps your customers coming back?
AW: I truly believe it's the unique Drybar experience and the exceptional customer service we strive to deliver. We designed a place that truly meets our customer’s needs - like easy online booking at TheDryBar.com, and extended hours so people can come in at 8am before heading off to work or as late as 9pm before hitting a fabulous dinner party. It’s also fun to try our different signature looks from the menu like the sleek and smooth “Manhattan” or the messy/beach “Mai Tai”.

YBI: At what point did the need to grow become apparent?
AW: After we first opened in February 2010 in the Brentwood area of Los Angeles we were booked solid within the first month. Every day our clients were telling us about friends in other areas that wish they had a Drybar in their city. We also were getting a lot of out of town clients driving from places like Orange County, Northern California, and even parts of Arizona. My hunch was right and the demand was there! So we decided it was time to bring a Drybar to them. In just a year we  expanded to five locations in Southern California and our first outpost in Dallas, Texas.  (Click HERE to see an updated list of locations)
