Celebrity Makeup Artist Debra Macki teamed up with recording artist Christine Baze to launch a new eyeshadow palette to raise money for the Yellow Umbrella Organization. The product launched at the Ultimate Beauty Challenge on 9.27 in Boston and Debra gives us the scoop.
YBI: Tell us about the new product.
DM: This eye shadow palette will raise money for theYellowUmbrella.org, a non-profit who's message is "Save the Hooch". We're working under the same umbrella to prevent cervical cancer.
I'm very excited to be producing a product that will be part of helping people and raising awareness.
YBI: How did you come up with the colors for the palette?
DM: We have one palette for now so I had to come up with 3 eye shadows that would look good on the majority of people. I also had a personal inspiration for the colors. The collaboration between the Yellow Umbrella and Debra Macki Cosmetics was sparked by a trip to Monte Carlo, Monaco. I wanted the colors to remind me of our brainstorming sessions on the beautiful French Riviera and I accomplished that.
Purple is hot for fall and a great color for most people. The highly pigmented shadows were designed to withstand the flashing lights of the papa razzi so you'll quit before your shadow does.
YBI: Where will the product be sold?
DM: The palette is available now at theYellowUmbrella.org and boutiques nationwide for $36.
