NEWS: Estée Lauder to say goodbye to Prescriptives brand

PrescriptivesEstée Lauder announced that they will close down their Prescriptives brand by January 31st, in an effort to focus more on areas with the best growth potential.

Prescriptives products will still be sold online for U.S. customers only while inventory lasts.

NEWS: Beyonce Sued by Abercrombie & Fitch

Shortly after announching a partnership with Coty Inc for a fragrance line, Beyonce has been sued by Abercrombie & Fitch Co over her intent to use its "Fierce" trademark on the line to be launched in early 2010.

In a federal lawsuit filed Tuesday in Columbus, Ohio, Abercrombie said Knowles' plan "poses a likelihood of confusion" for consumers that could deprive it of control over a mark it has used since 2002, and perhaps cost it sales.

NEWS: Hair & Makeup at Mercedes-Benz NY Fashion Week

Derek LamMercedes-Benz NY Fashion Week did not disappoint! Designers presented their Spring 2010 Collections with versatile looks in hair and makeup between the different shows.

New York's Fashion's Night out helped kick off fashion week and the stars came out to support the global initiative to help stimulate retail. Shopping, fashion shows, a Jay-Z star studded concert and the VMA's...it's safe to say that NYC was rockin' and even more than usual.

Trends included natural hair and natural makeup with a lip that popped but over at the L.A.M.B. show, Gwen Stefani had her models styled in true rock star fashion with punk hair. The Derek Lam show (shown in this photo) was our pick for best hair and makeup featuring retro up-do's and blush cheeks.

NEWS: Beyonce to Launch Fragrance Line

BeyonceVMAsBeyonce has signed a deal with Coty Inc to launch a fragrance line in the spring of 2010.

Coty Inc. is the name behind such brands as Calvin Klein, Vera Wang, Marc Jacobs as well as fragrances by Jennifer Lopez and Sarah Jessica Parker.

Beyonce released the following statement regarding the new partnership: "For me, fragrance reflects a woman's attitude and unique sense of style. While I love various perfumes, I haven't found a scent that truly personifies me as a woman.
