And the Winner Is....
I caught up with Christopher from the winning Visionaries team and he was extremely excited about the win! I tried to get the secret to the "hair sheets" but he wouldn't give up any info! That's ok, I understand!
Congrats again on the win, and congratulations to ALL of the teams! They all did a wonderful job and it was fun to see all the exciting and new things that could be made from makeup, hair and candy! Now, I'm going to find the Perfect Inc. team to see if they have any of that black licorice left!
Final Touches

Beauty Question
What is the one beauty product you could not live without?
I'll start with me. I'm big proponent of skin protection and NEVER go out without a moisturising sunscreen. I've been using Clinique's Superdefense SPF 25. I love it but wanted to get a higher SPF, so I'm now using Aveeno's Positively Ageless SPF 42! Love it!

Perfect Inc. Team
When I walked over to the Perfect Inc. team, I felt like I was walking into a Sci-Fi/Fantasy movie! We've seen lots of gold tonight, and the Perfect Inc. team was using silver. The one thing that excited me was that they were using black licorice! Lulu offered me some, but I didn't want to eat some and then they later find out they needed ONE piece! She's going to save me some though! Emily was working on a beautiful smokey and winged eye that I loved! Lulu was also working on a mannequin head that I'm guessing will be implemented somehow in their creation. As she said, "Who wouldn't want a wife that's magically delicious!" Love her!
Indra Salon Update
The Indra Salon is working on a very interesting look! Working with the special ingredient, candy, they're wrapping it around what looks like a high thin beehive! It's those candy necklaces we used to wear as kids! I have to ask if they have any leftovers! I also see them making some huge tissue paper candies. Wonder where those will go? On the dress maybe? Can't wait to find out! Their makeup artists are working very quickly and were furiously applying all kinds of shininess when I left! They, like all the teams are working very well together!
Diamond Divaz The Diamond Divaz were hard at work when I stopped by to see them! The team was working together and looked both calm and calculated in their work. Their model Melissa looked like a work of art to me! Very Pride and Prejudice! The colors they were incorporating into their creation reminded me a lot of fall in New England!

Avant Garde Update
Just stopped by the Avant Garde area to see what they were up to. There was a very vibrant and colorful eye shadow palette in their work area, but they were currently working on a beautiful gold face! The team was working very well together and although they looked serious, they also looked like they were having fun! Rebecca and Kiera were also working on curling some extension pieces for later use!
Keep up the good work ladies! Can't wait to see the finished product!
And We're Off!
Here we go! The teams are now at their stations and have begun bringing their visions to fruition! The "Secret Item" has been revealed and it is...Candy!!!
I'm sitting next to The Visionaries, and I can't wait to see this finished! They were walking around with this box before the competition began and I have to say that I was more than a little curious to find out what was in it! Well, turns out it was (I don't even know if it has a technical name) some sort of "hair sheets." They're spraying them into position and they look very funky! That's them in the picture!
I am inhaling A LOT of hairspray right now, and I'm not sure that's a good thing! LOL I'm loving the makeup the Visionaires are putting on their model's legs. It looked like purple eye shadow with a layer of gold shine over it! Not for your typical Saturday night at the club (for most of us at least), but it's a fab look!
I'm going to head to some of the other stations to find out what's going on with the rest of the teams! Stay tuned!
Meet the Indra Salon Team
The team consists of:
Jose Batistine and April Graffeo are the team hair stylists
The stunning Carly Marciano is the team's model
Jenelle is the makeup artist
Amanda Garner represents Motive by Loren Ridinger makeup
This team was put together for this fabulous event. Some of them have worked together before, and they are looking forward to any of the surprise items. They've gone back and forth as to a favorite, but they say they're ready!

And Lulu Locks (how cute is that?) is obviously the hair stylist
These energetic and visionary women are friends and co-workers. They see their biggest strength as having the ability to create a complete head to toe look! They specialize in creating a fantasy look! The are totally prepared for any of the three options to be the secret item! They say that communication is key with their team, and they are great and speaking up when they need to and keeping quiet when that's needed too!

Christopher and Daryl have worked together at the Daryl Christopher salon. Christopher has worked on numerous events with team model Lucia. The interesting element to this team is that Christopher and makeup artist Davisha met only a week ago! Should be quite interesting! Can't wait to see if this will work for them or against them!
I asked Christopher which surprise item he would prefer to work with and he says that he was preparing for something crazy like a rubber chicken, so anything that gets thrown at them now is no problem!

I asked the ladies of Avant Garde how they formed their team, and they are simply four friends with a love of beauty! They think that the surprise item may be candy, but are hoping for straw. If it is candy, they have some awesome gold candy crystals for the lips! I would LOVE to see that!
The team is both excited and nervous, but look forward to showing the crowd and the judges what they can do, and explain their creation and vision!

As I mentioned earlier, the teams will be given a surprise item that they will have to work with. Before tonight, they were given the three options: lights, candy, and straw (the kind that horses eat, not what you drink through!) I asked the Diamond Divaz which item they were hoping it would be, and they said candy! They did say that they were prepared for all options though!
Personally, I'm hoping that it's not candy, so I can go around and steal (I mean look at) the different kinds of candy they would have worked with. Hey, if they're not using it, why not?

Welcome everyone to Your Beauty Industry's Ultimate Beauty Challenge! Tonight, five teams will battle it out for the $4,000 dollar prize from the Yellow Umbrella Organization. More on this wonderful organization later!
The teams are arriving and setting up as I furiously type, and I'm about to go meet each team and check out all the spectacular goodies that they are unpacking! Personally, I was never a girly-girl growing up, so I wasn't into makeup. But ever since the the fabulous makeup artist Debra Macki put some fake eyelashes on me, I've been hooked! Now that I am, I look forward to bringing you all the sights and and excitement as it happens!
During the challenge, each team will be glamming up their models in the hopes of coming out as the top team. There's going to be a fun twist in the action too, as the teams will have to work with a last minute surprise item! Think Iron Chef America meets Top Model! I don't even know what the item is, and I can't wait to find out! So be sure to keep checking back as I keep you up to date on all the excitement live from the Liberty Hotel!
