New Year’s Eve is a great occasion to dress up your makeup and go extra glam. There are so many fun evening looks you can rock from smoky eyes to glittery and sparkles but let’s talk about the next morning. New Year’s Day, for many, is a time to spend with friends and family. Perhaps those people will be snapping photos, so the last thing you want is to look like a tired mess at the beginning of a new year. Since we partied hard the night before we need the beauty remedy for a hangover and I have you covered with a few quick and easy steps!

First up is some tired-eye prevention! If you’re drinking alcohol, a great idea to avoid an actual hangover is to make sure you drink a lot of water along with the wine, champagne and martinis! HOWEVER, don’t wait until right before you pass out for the night. Drink the water throughout the night. If you try to fill up on too much water right before you shut your eyes you can actually make your eyes puffier.

Next, I recommend using Eyedews under-eye masks. As you roll out of bed on New Year’s Day, grab some Eyedews and place them under your eyes for about 20 minutes as you start your daily routine. This will reduce puffiness and they feel great too. (Tip: Put them in your fridge the night before to make them cooler)

Now, it’s time to conceal the after-effects of whatever happened the night before. Some of my favorite concealing products are available in one beauty kit from Benefit Cosmetics called Confessions of a Concealaholic. This concealing and brightening kit will help you hide what you don’t want seen and Benefit Cosmeticsbrighten your best features.

The kit contains: “that gal” brightening face primer, boi-ing industrial strength concealer in 2 shades (01, 02) for custom concealing, erase paste (02 medium) brightening camouflage for eyes and face, lemon aid color correcting eyelid primer, eye bright instant eye brightener, concealer brushes and a step-by-step lesson.

This kit works well with my skin tone but if you need something darker, try getting boi-ing in 03 and the lemon aid individually- those are 2 of my favorite Benefit products. Confessions of a Concealaholic is $36, buy it here.

In closing, the keys to NOT looking like a tired mess on New Year’s Day (besides the obvious avoidance of alcohol and late-night partying) are prevention, cooling and concealing.

Best of luck and Happy New Year!
