Alexandra Ryan is a Fashion Stylist and Consultant. Her company, Show Me Style, offers a wide variety of services that range from personal shopping, closet cleansing and coaching, special event shopping, style workshops, and organization.

Alexandra styled the YBI Shoot "This Woman's Work" and created versatile looks with pieces that can be taken from casual to glam and day to night in just a few steps. Here, Alexandra breaks down each look for us.

This floral dress is a great transitional piece.  You can wear it solo with a pair of gold metallic flats in the summer, or winterize it with layers for colder weather.  The combination of fur and floral is unexpected and gives the casual dress a much more elegant look, while still keeping it appropriate for day with the gorgeous tall brown boots from Turtle.

These silver sequin shorts that I chose for Abba are so fun!  I think bold sequin pieces look best when they are dressed down, which is why  I paired the shorts with a fun casual tee from Motley and the Mike & Chris leather jacket.  This look can be rocker casual with a pair of chucks or rocker glam for night with a pair of black pumps.

This Vanessa Bruno blouse has an old world style to it much like Briana’s hair & make-up.   I paired this very feminine top with a Vanessa Bruno brown casual short skirt (so cute) and a brown rugged Fiorentini + Baker boots to toughen up her look.  The copper rose necklace is the perfect mix of femininity and ruggedness that helps bring this look from day to night.

I call this look Country Chic.  I chose this Aimee G plaid skirt from Turtle paired it with a green Leyendeker top (also from Turtle) and the rugged Fiorentini + Baker boots.   I also added an Ardistia fur vest (seen in the Your Beauty Story "This Woman's Work").  The same copper rose necklace from Habit gives the look a feminine touch it needs while still staying true to it’s country roots.

This navy & white striped dress from Zara will look fantastic worn by itself with metallic flats and layered gold necklaces and bracelets during the day.  To create a more elegant look, I paired the dress with a navy cropped jacket from dress, added a fun pearl necklace, vintage Nine West heels, and a bright red watch from Motley for a punch of color. The combination of the pieces helps create a sophisticated Americana look (a big trend for spring 2010) with edge.

Abba’s blue silk dress paired with black faux leather leggings and grey booties moves this look towards the edge giving her a rocker glam look that is both casual and dressy.  The dress can be pulled from the edge by pairing it with black opaque tights and a pair of patent leather pumps.

Brianna’s look is the polar opposite of Abba.  She is wearing a sophisticated basic black pencil skirt, a beautiful printed top, and basic black patent pumps that all match her vintage hair and make-up.  I chose the red Nixon watch from Motley because it adds color and fun to sophistication.
